The Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay placement season started off on Tuesday with 18 companies recruiting from the final student’s batch.
Tech major Qualcomm made the highest offer of Rs 46.41 lakh/annum among the domestic recruiters while the Amsterdam based financial company, Optiver has made an offer of euro 1.57 lakh per annum.
Other significant offers were made by WorldQuant at Rs 39.70 lakh/annum, Morgan Stanley at Rs 37.25 lakh/annum and Uber at Rs 35.38 lakh/annum.
IIT-Bombay in a statement said that for the domestic jobs, highest numbers of offers were made by Microsoft, Google, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Boston Consulting Group, Apple, Bain and Company, while the lucrative international offers were made by Optiver,
So far 153 Pre-Placement Offers have been accepted by students, which is higher than last year. The regular recruiters have shown faith in IITB and we are anticipating more offers from these companies, the statement said.
For recruitment Slot 1.1 witnessed the participation from companies as diverse as IT/Software, core engineering and consulting.
A placement official at the premier institution told BusinessLine that the interview process for placements of 2,000 final year students is underway. However, due to COVID, the interviews would be held completely in an online environment. For student interviews, proprietary software is being used.
The process of interviews will be held in two phases and would continue late in the night. The students assisting the placement process are also in their home towns, the official said.
